2009 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship Game

Second-seeded Loyola University Maryland won a thrilling game over fourth-seeded Niagara University to win the 2009 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship. Greyhounds' freshman forward Matt Tyrie scored his first career goal with 23.8 seconds left in the second overtime to give Loyola a 1-0 victory.

2009 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship - Semifinals

The semifinal round of the 2009 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship was held today at Lessing Field on the campus of Fairfield University.

Loyola University Maryland defeated hosts Fairfield, 3-0, in the first game. Post-game reaction from Loyola head coach Mark Mettrick:

Niagara University upset top-seeded Iona College in the second semifinal contest. The Purple Eagles beat the Gaels 3-0 on penalty kicks following a 1-1 draw. MAAC Men's Soccer Awards Banquet

The MAAC held its annual men's soccer awards banquet this evening at the Marriott in Trumbull, Connecticut. Honorees included Loyola University's Jamie Darvill, who was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, fellow Greyhound Tennant McVea, the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, and Iona College head coach Fernando Barboto, who was recognized as the Anaconda Sports Coach of the Year. The 2009 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship was held at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

2009 MAAC Cross Country Championships

2009 MAAC Basketball Media Day
